the elephants (looks like he thought they were a little stinky),

and lots of other creatures. We're so lucky that the DC zoo is free of charge; I'm sure we'll be heading back again soon!

On Tuesday night, our friend Darcy was in DC for work and came over for dinner. Charlie was a big fan of Darcy, and we had a great time catching up!

Charlie goes for his 15 month doctor's appointment next Friday - I'm excited to see how big he is now! He eats all the time, and food makes him so happy! He really likes finger foods he can feed himself, and he is not a delicate eater; he generally shovels as much in as he can at a time. He only has the 2 bottom teeth still, but the lack of teeth doesn't slow him down. Freeze-dried apple pieces are a favorite. Here are some photos from earlier today, when he was rapidly stuffing them in his mouth and grinning with excitement.

And one of the trademark pout - this is after I was feeding him peas. You can see he doesn't like peas much more than his mom does!
