Happy Thanksgiving!

Somebody's ready for turkey:
It's just after 9 a.m. Thanksgiving morning, and the pumpkin pie is in the oven and the cranberry sauce is cooling on the counter - if only I could be this ambitious every morning! Unfortunately George has to work today, so we're having turkey dinner for 2 tonight - glad they sell a turkey breast roast on its own, or we'd be eating turkey for weeks!

We have so much to be thankful for this year - the health of our miracle baby is at the top of our list, of course, but a close second is the love of our family and friends that have done so much to make the last 8 months easier for us. We think often about how amazing those months after Charlie's birth were. We were in a fog of worry about him, but did not have to worry about anything else, considering how understanding our employers were, how fabulously generous our friends and co-workers were with meals and visits and shoulders to cry on, the kindness of neighbors we hardly knew who mowed our lawn and delivered gifts for our boy, and the never-ending support of our families. We are thankful for all of you this year, and will do our best to repay your kindness whenever and however we can.

Here's Charlie on the couch this morning, excited about watching his first Thanksgiving Day parade.
We got a new baby bath this week, since Charlie was quickly outgrowing his infant one - and he loves it! For some reason, he seems to prefer keeping his feet dry, though...

Last Sunday, we decided it was time to tackle our leaf-covered front lawn. We did 14 big drum-sized bags before it was too dark to continue - and almost finished. Hopefully I'll be able to get the last patch done while Charlie naps today. Charlie didn't like raking much - he whined almost as much as we used to when dad would institute "Family Raking Parties" on Saturdays growing up. And he wasn't even toting a rake! Here he is, bundled up and ready to supervise the activity:
And lastly, hamming it up for the camera:
We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
love, Marie, George and Charlie
