Charlie refused to smile for that round of photos, but then Uncle Brent worked his magic and got Charlie laughing. As you can see, they cracked each other up!
On Sunday evening, our friends Lisa and Mark and their sweet girls came over for dinner. Emma and Saskia were great with Charlie and kept him very entertained!
On Monday night, we enjoyed a visit from Greg Owen, a friend of George's from Scituate, MA who was in town for work. It was great to see him. And then Tues night, Phil was in town from Miami - he hadn't seen Charlie since he was in the hospital, so it was fun for us to see his reaction to our big guy and how far he's come.
Today, I worked from home, and took a break in the afternoon so I could attend Charlie's therapy appointment with his OT, Amanda. She's great - very positive and encouraging, and also gives us lots of good exercises to work on with Charlie. She was excited to see how much Charlie has advanced since her last visit three weeks ago. She was pleased with his scooting, with his feeding himself, his reaching and balance, and lots of other advancements he's made since she saw him last. It was really nice to hear how pleased she was with him.
We've been working on finger foods this week. Gerber makes a product called "Puffs" that are apparently extremely addictive - Charlie LOVES them. They basically dissolve in his mouth, which is key, since he still doesn't have any teeth. For the last 2 weeks, we've been trying to teach Charlie to lift them into his mouth on his own, but he preferred to lean down and eat them off my hand rather than lift them into his own mouth. But suddenly this week, something clicked, and now he stuffs them in his mouth one after another. It's amazing to watch him use his thumb and forefinger to pick a tiny puff up and put it in his mouth - it takes serious hand-eye coordination, and he's got it.
Night everyone!

I absolutely looove the series of Charlie laughing with his Uncle Brent (way to go Brent!). Charlie has certainly come a long way and is as busy, busy, busy as his mom - learning so many new things! Great job Charlie!
