Long Day

We are tired! But we've had a great day; it's really wonderful to have Charlie home! Here he is, sacked out in the Baby Papasan chair that Lauren was so kind to loan us:

It works well for him, since he's got some reflux and needs to sit up after feeding. We met his pediatrician this morning - their office is just minutes away from our home, which is great, and the doctor seemed very nice. He was amused by all of Charlie's grunts and squeaks; he's a noisy kid!

My mom is in town for the week, and we're being very spoiled - she's done laundry, grocery shopped, and cooked us dinner. So nice! And since I had help and company, George went out today and bought Charlie a dresser/changing table! So the nursery is finally all set except for a rug.

We had some quiet time this afternoon, Charlie and I, while Dad and Gram Lamb were both out shopping, so I took lots of photos of him sitting in the boppy in my lap. One of these days I'll get one with his eyes open and smiling!
Charlie was sleeping well today in the sweet Moses basket we borrowed; hopefully he didn't get TOO much, and will be able to snooze tonight! Dad is back to work tomorrow, so we could use some rest.

Welcome home, little Charlie! We're thrilled for you ... and for your mom and dad ... and for your grandparents! We can see from the blog that you're already showing them who's boss and controls the schedule; that's your job at this point, just go easy on them occasionally and let them sleep and rejuvenate enough to keep the spoiling at the high level a true trooper like you deserves. Good wishes to all!

This is FABULOUS.

I hope Charlie slept well last night, but I'm not betting on it. It will be hard as hell for a while, and you will look back and treasure every second.

I'd say that you guys are the best, but Charlie's even better than you. Good bless you all.
