This weekend, we stayed with Molly and her daughter Julia. Her husband was out of town and George was in New Orleans, so it was a great weekend to get in some long overdue girl time. Charlie loved Julia and Molly, and hearing his sweet little voice say, “Good morning Jooya” was wonderful. They developmental specialist observed him at school not too long ago, and commented on how he doesn’t interact well or much with the other kids, which breaks my heart – but he so loved spending time with Ann and Julia.
I can’t believe that in a few short days, he’s going to be three years old. I’m so proud of him and all he’s overcome in three short years!
Charlie’s first flight with his own seat and no carseat was a huge success. He couldn’t kick the back of the seat without the extra height of the car seat, but he was still able to look out the window. He really loved the take-off, and seeing the other planes on the runway. He was really well-behaved and I was able to relax!
Here’s Charlie with Julia. Molly and I spent plenty of time in high school trying to envision what our adult lives would look like, so it's pretty fun to be on the other side, still be good friends, and have our kiddos hanging out together!
Charlie got to try out some shades that a friend of Katie’s and Brent’s created and hopefully will be selling soon! Charlie loved them:
Ann brought Charlie’s birthday present to the park, and graciously helped him open it:
He LOVED his new cape! It was so funny to watch him running around the park in his sunglasses and his super hero cape!
Julia, Ann, and Charlie loved hanging out in the truck:
The cape was extra-impressive when Charlie was swinging.
Slumber party!
Charlie trying on mommy’s new Marshalls’ specials (forgot my sunglasses at home!).
Sweet Julia loving the car (that wasn’t going anywhere due to some cracked wheels):
A nice man gave Charlie a left-over birthday party balloon:
It was a great weekend! I wish we could have stayed longer!

He seems like he's doing so great! I have to say that I didn't "interact well with other kids" either at his age, except for a few close friends. I went to kindergarten and spoke to no one except my best friend Brie. We'd walk around the room holding hands, not talking to the other kids. My mom wanted to hold me back to get more socially adapted, but they wouldn't let me stay back because I did fine academically, and pre-first was already full. That point of all that is that I turned out just fine (if I do say so myself)! Charlie will get there in his own time!
