Happy July 4th!! We’ve had a busy, great weekend with lots of friends, culminating in a fun, laid-back Fourth of July celebration. We started the day with a family tattoo session – pretty exciting. Charlie is still getting used to his USA flag. When I got him up this morning, he immediately pointed to his tattoo. I think he’ll be happy to realize it’s not permanent!
After donning tattoos and our 4th of July wear, we headed over to the neighborhood elementary school to see the parade. It was very cute – lots of kids on bikes decorated with streamers and balloons, kids in wagons dressed up in patriotic clothes, and even a fire truck!
Charlie was pretty excited!
We had a great time!
Afterwards, we headed home so Charlie could take a quick nap, and then our friends Carrie, Tom and Marie came over for a play date. Marie and Charlie hadn’t seen each other since their Valentines date, but they reunited happily.
Miss Marie donned a tattoo too.
I bought Charlie a new baby pool on Saturday (there was no way we were going to spend 3 hours blowing into the inflatable one again) in hopes that he’d love it as much as he loves the regular pool. Unfortunately he wasn’t a huge fan, but we’re going to try again soon.
It looks like we’re torturing him, doesn’t it? Poor little face.
He was much happier on dry land.
I hope everyone has had as much fun this 4th of July as we have. I’m so thankful for this great country, and for our wonderful family and friends.
