New Treats

We've been lucky to get lots of time over the past few months with family and friends. This weekend, though, we've been just spending time with our little nuclear family. Charlie's been getting over a cold this week, as have I (love when he passes these things on), and I've been trying to re-introduce some 6 a.m. workouts and have been busy at work. By the time yesterday came, we were exhausted! A quiet weekend at home with no plans has been just what the doctor ordered!
Earlier this week, George celebrated the two year anniversary of Charlie's release from the NICU by having a father/son day. He took the day off work to take Charlie to the pool and the park, and they met me at work so we could go to one of our favorite places for dinner that night. What a good daddy he is. We'll be celebrating him tomorrow!
Tonight we had a great dinner, and Charlie ate like a champ! George fired up the grill and cooked a delicious rib-eye, to which I added red-skinned mashed potatoes and spinach salad. Charlie had only eaten half of a cucumber and some jelly bellies (don't ask) for lunch, so he was ready for a good dinner. I was shocked by how much steak he consumed, and in between bites of steak, he begged for spinach. You just never know with that kid!
After dinner, we used the grill to make dessert. Charlie is now a HUGE s'more fan!

I especially love this next photo (though it's not so becoming) - the look on his face shows how disappointed he was when he realized he had to share!
