When did my squishy baby become a little boy? Tonight in the tub, he kept trying to stand up. He walks wherever he can, even in his footie pajamas which put him at a distinct disadvantage on the hardwoods. He understands so many more words than he did a month ago. He wants to "talk" on the "phone" all the time - every toy he has that is even remotely phone shaped (or not phone shaped at all, even) gets lifted to his ear. He cocks his head and looks at me, waiting for me to say Hello? Hello? He likes the anticipation of tickling as much as being tickled - he starts belly-laughing as soon as I make the tickling motions, before I even get to his belly. Did I mention is belly laugh is the best sound I have ever heard in my entire life? He has lots of hair on his little head, and makes a funny oh shape with his mouth when I give him a head massage when shampooing him. He does this funny thing on a regular basis where he throws his arms out, kind of like he's saying, "ta-da"...but I'm not sure what he's trying to say. He's learning to blow kisses. He's got a mouth full of teeth. If I ask him to bring me "That's Not My Truck" or "Goodnight Cape Cod" or "Who Said Moo?", he always brings the book I asked for, even if it's in the middle of a big stack. He kisses baby Gladys on the head all the time, but then tosses her aside and climbs on top of her to get to his trucks. He carries his toys around with him, even the heavy ones. He opens every drawer in his reach and pulls things out and puts them in and pulls them out again. I'm finding his magnetic letters in random places all over the house. He likes lots of attention and his smilie lights up my life.
I'm leaving tomorrow for 2 nights with some very good girlfriends! I can't wait! But I'm going to miss that little boy!!
