He's a great traveller - we took him to Philadelphia on Sunday to see George's family and celebrate Aunt Patti and Uncle Tom's birthdays, and he was great in the car. He slept most of both ways, and when he was awake, he just looked around a lot like he was taking it all in.
He was happy to see all his family, and wasn't bothered by all the people or getting passed around. In fact, the only thing that suffered was his sleep - he didn't want to miss out on any of the action! He enjoyed some bonding time with his nana, who gave us the treat of a few free hours to hit the enormous King of Prussia Mall to shop and have lunch.
He is sitting up on his own wonderfully now - we have a big metal colander where we store some of his toys, and he reaches in and pulls them all out and throws them around, making as big a mess as he can. He and I met with his therapist today, and she was really impressed to see how well he was sitting and playing - he's already improved just since she first met him last Monday! He is so alert and extremely curious about everything he sees - his big hazel eyes get so wide when something or someone new is presented to him. To see such activity in a little guy who had such a rough start is a constant reminder to us to keep believing in his strength! And of course to keep celebrating him and his many accomplishments.
Last week, we introduced green beans to his diet and they were a huge success! He couldn't get enough. And on Sunday, we started him on carrots, which he loves equally. It is so fun to see him enjoying his food. And you can see by the size of his cheeks that he's an eater!

Charlie is the most EXPRESSIVE baby - here's a video showing his many faces:

oooh, wait until you do sweet potatoes - Ben LOVES sweet potatoes. Waves his arms and gets all excited. It's a hoot.
Charlie continues to be ridiculously cute and I'm so glad he's doing so well. What a little champ!
I really can't wait to introduce he and Ben. They would have so much fun together.
