Yesterday was a pretty terrible day for the little guy - the six month checkup, with lots of shots! I REALLY don't like having to snuggle his little body while they stab him. He seems to really understand pain at this point, and the red face and screaming is a lot for a mom to handle. I have to admit I shed some tears in the car on the way home myself... I need to get a thicker skin if I'm going to make it through this motherhood thing!
The good news is, he is now 12 pounds, 3 ounces. He's in the 25th percentile for a 3 month old baby, which seems great. We saw a new doctor due to scheduling constraints, and she was surprised that he was a 25 weeker - she said you definitely can't tell based on how he looks now - strong and healthy!
In other news, everyone thinks he's adorable :) We saw lots of neighbors in our walk this afternoon, including a little girl who yelled from her front yard, "Hey, I like your baby!" and then ran up to admire him. Too cute! I have to admit, after my years in the district, I really love living in the 'burbs. It's so nice to be in a neighborhood.
We're looking forward to a visit from Uncle John, Aunt Dev, and Jake and Patrick tomorrow - they're enjoying the sites of DC today and tomorrow, and then will come join us tomorrow night for the weekend. Charlie is excited about meeting more cousins!
